Workshops
Alvaro is considered one of Los Angeles’ most experienced professional artists providing learning experiences for K-12 students. Alvaro is also often called upon to lead art workshops for teachers.
K-12 Workshops: Hands-on activities with Alvaro Asturias provide insight into the crafts, stories and history of civilizations around the world. These multicultural workshops can include the construction of Guatemalan or Chinese masks, Panchatantra puppets, origami, papel picado, Roman mosaics, an exploration of a Mayan city or Egyptian paintings. Each session incorporates cultural or historical elements in order to deepen students’ understanding of context and the artwork being created
